David S, 40, built an impressive six-pack in just six weeks by using our bodyweight shred plan
If you’re looking for an excuse not to get in shape then you’ll probably be able to find one. You could tell yourself that getting in shape is a young man’s game. You could tell yourself that you don’t have the right equipment to lose fat and build muscle. Or you could tell yourself that your schedule means you just don’t have the time to train.
Well, David (pictured above) could have used all three of those excuses. He’s in his 40s, he doesn’t have a gym membership or any home workout kit and he has a demanding job that leaves him with little time to train. So, he could have used those excuses. But he didn’t. Instead, he focused on what he could do. He started his Six-Week Bodyweight Shred Plan plan, he followed the plan and he absolutely smashed the plan. In just six weeks he ditched his belly, sculpted and impressive set of abs and added serious muscle to his chest.
What had your training been like before you started your New Body Plan programme?
Around seven years ago I was regularly training in mixed martial arts and jiu-jitsu and was reasonably fit, particularly after following a conditioning programme with the wrestling coach at the gym I trained at. But up until I started the New Body Plan programme recently I hadn’t trained properly in years. It was after l I felt my clothes getting a bit tight following the festive period that I decided to give a structured programme a go.
What was the most enjoyable thing about the programme?
The fact that the sessions are quite short and intense and, for the plan I was following, no equipment is needed. The technique videos in the New Body Plan app were a clear guide to the form required so that made it straightforward to follow.
How easy was it to stick to the food recommendations?
Very easy. I was actually eating more than usual based on the guidelines in the programme. But clearly it was better stuff than I’d been putting in myself previously!
Did you experience any non-physical benefits?
Despite feeling pretty tired after the workouts themselves, I definitely found that I had more energy throughout the rest of the day.
Would you recommend New Body Plan programmes to friends?
Definitely! I am a very busy person generally, but I didn’t find it too difficult to factor in the four sessions a week to complete the programme.
